I have been without a cigarette, now nearly two weeks. On Sunday, March 22 this year, I decided that enough was enough and put cigarettes for good. I am in my top 40 and quit smoking for 11 years but started back up a little over 2 years. This was the worst thing I have done.

Back in 1994 I decided that I was smoking and ordered a kit from a company called Quick Quitze. It consisted of two pills and a bottle of aromatherapy. I stopped on a Thursday evening by taking two pills and heading to bed. The next morning, I had just one wish it was lighter but not much. This evening, Friday evening, we were in the boat and went to a Waterfront Bar. It seemed that everyone was smoking, I went with people, yeah I know, no love at all. But this was the last one I smoked for over 10 years.

Fast forward to 2006 and I was in a comedy club and had a bunch of drinking and smoking a cigarette disgusted with a friend. Well, you know the story … the rest is history.

Well now I'm unemployed and short of money, it seemed crazy to spend so much money on a bad habit, so I resigned. I did not want Spending money on patches, drugs, or other means of termination. So I reached for a cigarette Sunday night and said NO. It was she … almost two weeks and no problems.

The secret of my success has been the Internet. It also helped me stay occupied research on products and websites that deal with the idea of quitting cold turkey. These small software applications save time and day you leave and keep a running total of money saved, the number of cigarettes not smoked, and the days added to your life.
